NEW 2023 Dodge Charger & Challenger Scat Pack Swinger Models (All the Details)

Today, Wednesday, September 7th, marked the reveal of the 3rd and 4th of the Dodge ‘Last Call’ buzz models. The current Dodge Charger and Challenger are coming to an end, so these models celebrate the last year of these muscle cars. Six special-edition Challenger and Charger models will be revealed through September 21, 2022. The seventh and final 2023 Dodge model — the very last of its kind — will be revealed at the 2022 SEMA Show in Las Vegas, scheduled for Nov. 1-4, 2022. In this video, we will check out the Dodge Charger and Challenger R/T Scat Pack Swinger models, along with a brief history of the Swinger and the future release dates for the other Buzz models!

Foreign hey guys so today we are continuing in our weekly series where we cover each reveal of the seven 2023 dodge buzz models today we are checking out the 2023 dodge charger and challenger scat pack swingers which were just announced several hours ago we’ll also look at a bit of the history of the swinger nameplate and look ahead to the remaining buzz model

Releases and what we might expect from those so let’s get right into it these swingers become the third special edition models announced after the challenger shakedown and the charger super b technically it’s actually a model 3 and 4 since there’s both a challenger and charger version and this is the first time that both of those will get the same version the buzz

Model continues to honor the heritage of dodge this time the dart swinger which was around from 1968 to 1976. the original dodge dart swinger was a member of the dodge scat pack club and it included what were called groovy options like green on green interior and exterior color combinations gold color accents and wood panel interior touches the new swinger is also

Kind of similar to the holy guacamole challenger concept that dodge showed off at the most recent 2021 sema show and at the end of this video i will cover a bit of the dodge dart swinger history but now more on the current swingers and once again there aren’t too many pictures released so i’ll show as much as i can todd ceo tim kiniskas talked about the car saying

Quote the name says it all the originals had a unique fun character and that’s the same reaction we’re hoping for with our 2023 dodge challenger and charger rt scat pack swinger models dodge swinger models have always held a unique spot in the dodge muscle car pantheon and these modern day models bring that fun back to life end quote so what do we know about this

Swinger on both the charger and challenger there will be 1 000 units built so one thousand each two thousand total and this time both the models are based off the rt scap pack wide body it appears that three exterior paint colors are available f8 green sublime green and white knuckle so the classic green on green swinger look can be recreated if desired as for the

Features of these swingers it seems like they’re mostly identical for each model other than the badging and the hood the challenger gets its standard challenger and rt wide body grille badges along with a scat pack and b spoiler badge and b fender badges and all of those are finished in gold school the challenger also features a shaker hood painted in gold school

Color the charger gets a scap pack and b badge in the grill and b fender and decklid badges but of course no shaker hood both of them will feature retro swinger rear fender graphics and 20 by 11 inch gold school wheels with black six piston brembo brakes that are beneath them inside there are mod grain wood-like aluminum interior bezel textures so that sounds

To me like fake wood then there’s napa alcantara seats with green stitching and a green dodge ram by logo korean accent stitching on the console and doors and a green swinger interior instrument panel badge so it’s nice that the swinger pays homage to the dart but i’m not so sure about this model and it’s probably my least favorite so far of the bunch the dart

Doesn’t even share the same nameplate as a charger or challenger and dodge certainly could have went further on some of the features for example the fake wood is kind of off-putting and i’m very disappointed they didn’t do the same awesome seats that were in the holy guacamole challenger or at least make that an option for customers the green stitching and green

Dodge logo isn’t much and we’ve seen that before on other dodge models with other colors and once again there’s no performance upgrades whatsoever here just the visual features so to get your hands on one of these dodge will build them at random and shift them to the top dealerships around the country sold on a first come first serve basis potential buyers will be

Able to see where these vehicles are headed on dodge garage but once they hit dealerships it will be a mad scramble to buy some of these as for the upcoming buzz models with four down now there are three to go september 14th we will see a charger hellcat red eye of some sort as the car cover says 6.2 liter high output with 300 units being built and september 21

The following week sees the challenger red eye counterpart with another 300 units the very last model will debut at the 2022 sema show in las vegas that’s the vehicle i’ve been talking about in my 2023 final hellcat videos where it could feature close to or over 900 horsepower with features that it could include the largest supercharger of any modern challenger

Possibly using the three liter elephant ihi blower and or run on some ethanol blend such as e85 now to cover a bit of the swinger history in 1969 the swinger was a two-door hardtop available in custom gt and gts trims along with a swinger 340 that you can see on screen right now in red in 1970 the swinger name was applied to all the dart two-door hardtops except

In the highline custom series the main performance model in 1970 was the swinger 340 two-door hardtop this came with hood scoops with 340 emblems and under the hood was the 275 horsepower 344 barrel v8 which was the top dart engine some standard features here included front disc brakes heavy duty suspension 3.23 to 1 rear axle 14 by five and a half inch steel

Wheels and a bumble bee stripe optional equipment included all vinyl bucket seats a center console flat block performance hood upgrade with hood pins power assisted brakes and steering rally wheels a 6000 rpm tachometer and a black or white vinyl roof cover in 1971 the springer 340 was replaced by the demon 340 while the custom two-door hardtop coupe became the

Swinger and the standard swinger became the swinger special going forward and after 1976 the dart was discontinued so that’s the end of this video what do you guys think of these swinger buzz models i’m kind of disappointed in these ones i thought the other models were cool the charger scat pack looked really good but these ones seem a little disappointing just

In my personal opinion and i definitely would have liked to see a better interior down here but let me know your thoughts down in the comment section below as always thanks for watching make sure to like subscribe for all your mopar content and i’ll see you in the next video thank you
