Does the 2021 Jeep Wrangler 4xe REALLY have 375 HP?

The Jeep 4xe is supposed to have 375 horsepower. The 2.0 Turbo should produce 270 HP while the eletric motors produce 181 hp and 44 hp. Combined the wrangler 4xe can produce 375… or can it?We can find out through the hybrid pages by converting kw to HP. The 2021 Jeep wrangler rubicon 4xe does not produced the horse power I was expecting. #4xe #jeepwrangler4xe #jeepwrangler

What’s going on everyone my name is brandon and today we’re going to take a look at the all-new 2021 jeep wrangler 4×8 plug-in hybrid now jeep claims that the wrangler 4×8 has a whop-in 375 horsepower combined between the 2-liter turbo and the electric drive motors today we’re going to find out how accurate that really is now starting off here with the 2-liter

Turbo it can produce around 270 horsepower now the motor generator unit that is here on the front the one small electric motor can produce somewhere around the 44 horsepower and then the electric motor that’s behind the engine that’s in front of the transmission can produce somewhere around a 181 horsepower now if you do some simple math that adds up to around

495 horsepower now keep in mind we do not combine all three of these together we use them in conjunction to come up with that 375 horsepower now how are we going to test if this vehicle really has 375 horses we’re going to find out right in the instrument cluster on the hybrid pages luxury of having access to dynamometers or all the fancy equipment to give us

Accurate measurements of horsepower but what i do have is the actual hybrid pages guys think about it the hybrid pages that show us how many kilowatts the engine is producing and the electric motors are producing and if we convert that from kilowatts to horsepower we know exactly how much power is making all right so let’s talk about the numbers one kilowatt

Equals 1.34 horsepower now if you flip it backwards one horsepower equals 0.75 kilowatts now let’s take a closer look at our hybrid pages and find out how much power we’re really using all right now let’s take a closer look here as you can see i am in esave mode so i’m using the engine to generate electricity for the battery now remember this was one kilowatt and

One kilowatt equaled 1.34 horsepower now having that said the engine is using four kilowatts so that is over five horsepower to generate one kilowatt of battery this guys is the most unefficient way to drive this vehicle in e-safe mode now guys we’re getting ready to go on a test drive and we’re gonna do some wide open throttle uh passes we’re gonna find out how

Much energy this is creating and then we’re gonna convert that into horsepower and find out how much we’re in the guy all right i’m gonna go ahead and switch over to electric only mode so as you can see electric only mode and we’re going to find out how many kilowatts this thing is going to use now now i’m going to take off real slow here now as you can see at

75 watts we are producing 100 horsepower okay now let’s do an electric only so that’s 100 horsepower let’s see how much we can go until the engine kicks in so about all i can get is 81 kilowatts from there i’ve got about three quarters of the way down if i go any more i feel like the engine is going to kick in let’s try to see over it kicks in now we were able to

Produce 93 kilowatts with the electric motor only without the engine running now that equals 124 horsepower which is not as much as i thought it would be now from a dead stop here in electric mode only we’re gonna see how much horsepower we get here we go wide open throttle now how about that guys we were able to get 88 kilowatts out of the electric motors and 135

Kilowatts out of the 2-liter turbo now let’s do a conversion here and see what that comes up with we get 118 horsepower out of the electric motors and 181 horsepower out of that 2-liter turbo now total that gives us 223 kilowatts which converts into 299 horsepower now let’s try this in hybrid mode now check that out guys that is crazy hybrid mode and electric

Mode gives us the same performance results we still got the 299 horsepower out of that now i really thought that we would get some different results but as you can see the exact same results between hybrid and electric now guys make sure you comment below and let me know what you think do you think this is an accurate test that’s nowhere close to the 375 that

Jeep is claiming that it gets now that 375 may be at the block on the dyno uh not at the actual wheels so who knows i think this is a pretty accurate test of how much horsepower the actual g4 by e really does have now guys if you like the video make sure you hit that thumbs up button and also don’t forget to subscribe so you can get the latest jeep information

Like i always say i hope you’re smarter now than you were when you started this video guys have a great night
